     nearly died too. The strongest of swimmers die in these powerful  

     currents.

The increasing number of people visiting Florida beaches every year is leading to more shark attacks. There are so many people in the water that we are forcing a human-shark interaction. Around half of the world's shark attacks occur off Florida shores.

Here are some headlines.

Paramedics treat man after a shark attack in the Gulf while he was swimming in

chest-deep water. He was airlifted by helicopter to a Fort Myers hospital, where

he was reported to be in good condition. (below left)

A boy is in stable condition after being attacked by a shark as he swam with a group of children at a public beach. The attack occurred on a sunny afternoon when the beach was filled with sunbathers and swimmers. EMS move victim to hospital (above right)

A boy who lost his leg after a shark attack in the Gulf is in stable condition following surgery.

Death of girl while swimming in the Gulf blammed on six foot bull shark.

A snorkeler hunting for sand dollars while swimming at the beach became the prey of a shark. He was swimming above a school of fish, when the shark lunged forward and clamped onto his left arm.

Florida Curbs the Operators Of Popular Shark Excursions Under the glare of publicity over shark attacks, the Florida state Wildlife Commission has banned operators of interactive shark dives from using bloody bait to lure the fish so that people can frolic with them.
